¿Nadie sabe si la candidata de Puerto Rico partió? En Voy Puerto Rico leí que ella se había ido pero sin nada porque su casa se le inundó y la ropa que había pedido no le iba a llegar por correo por la situación por la que pasa el país. No sé si sea verdad eso de que haya salido, la gente habla muchas cosas.

Hi everyone! Today is the first day I found wi-fi since the hurricane passed and I am so grateful for your prayers and support not only for me, but for my country. Words can't even begin to describe the current situation on the island. Besides the many lives this hurricane has taken, 98% of citizens are without power or water service, there is no communication, roads are intransitable, our rainforest and natural reserves are destroyed, fuel, water and food are limited resources, and my house as well as many others was flooded. Thank God my family and I are safe. Although this situation is heart breaking, it reassured my purpose in this pageant. And that is to spread the message about taking care of our only home; the Earth. I, as well as many others, have suffered the consequences of taking for granted everything our mother Earth has to offer, and it is our responsibility to build a sustainable future. The people of my country are strong, and during times like these, it's our humanity and empathy what make us persevere. It may be months before we can get back on our feet again, but we will come out of this stronger. Thanks to every single person who has sent their prayers to me and my country. Now I don't just represent Puerto Rico, I represent everyone who has helped me and my country rise. Yours always, Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2017
