She was crowned Miss Universe Ghana 2013 at the end of the pageant held at the La Palm Royal Hotel in Accra on Friday 24th May, 2013.

It was a night of glitz and glamour, as the finale of this year’s Miss Universe Ghana pageant took centre stage inside the plush La Palm Royal beach hotel.

With TV Host Nathaniel Attoh and actress Ama K. Abebrese stirring affairs, the event was concise and entertaining with the girls wowing the audience in Aya Morrison’s swimsuit collection and some dazzling evening wear.

Fritz and Noella thrilled the crowd with soothing performances throughout the night. Beautiful brains were put to the test in the final lap by the judges and the girls excelled, as they answered questions on their various projects, issues facing the African woman and a myriad of other topics.

In the end, the high profile judging panel comprising; actress Yvonne Nelson; presenter Benny Blanco; Brian D. Hogan, founder of investment firm Paradigm Capital Group; and model Veronica Varekova – declared the graceful and elegant 18 year old, Hanniel Jammin as Miss Universe Ghana 2013 with Emerald Aba and Helen Dake coming in 1st and 2nd Runner- up respectively.

For her prizes she won a New York Film Academy Scholarship, Management and Public Relations team for the year, Ghc 5,000 worth of wardrobe for appearances and the international competition, a gym membership and several others.

Whulan was born and raised in Pariaman, West Sumatra and she finished her high school in Padang before moving to Jakarta. In 2007 she decided to move to Jakarta and started a career in modeling, which she also continued her education, studying communication.

Whulan's step in modeling soared after competing in Wajah Femina 2008.

Whulan, who stands 1.76 m (5 ft 9 1⁄2 in), competed as the representative of West Sumatera. Whulan and the other 37 contestants from 33 provinces competed for the title. Winning the title, she is the second woman from West Sumatra to win the Puteri Indonesia title. The first one was in 2002 with Melanie Putria won the title.

As the winner of Puteri Indonesia 2013, Whulan will represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2013.

Yityish "Titi" Aynaw (born 1992) is an Israeli model who won the title of Miss Israel in 2013. She is the first Ethiopian Jew to win the contest. Aynaw is also the first black Miss Israel winner.

Yityish Aynaw was born in the village of Chahawit in Ethiopia's Gondar Province. Her father died when she was two years old and her mother died eight years later. Aynaw moved to Israel with her grandparents when she was twelve. After graduating high school, Aynaw served as a Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps of the Israel Defense Forces and afterwards worked in a clothing store.

On March 2013, Yityish Titi Aynaw was invited by the US president Barack Obama and the White House administration to attend a gala with Shimon Peres and Obama as he appreciated Israel crowning a black woman as Miss Israel and Aynaw having Obama as her "role model". Aynaw resides in Netanya, Israel. According to CNN's report "African Voices" Aynaw will represent Israel in Miss Universe 2013.

Binibining Pilipinas 2013 - Arida won Miss Universe-Philippines and Best in Swimsuit and crowned by Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner-Up, Janine Tugonon at a pageant held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 14, 2013. She was crowned along with Binibining Pilipinas-International, Bea Rose Santiago; Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism, Joanna Cindy Miranda; Miss Supranational Philippines, Mutya Johanna Datul; and Runner-up Pia Wurtzbach.

Judge, Philippine National Police chief, Director General Alan Purisima was the one who questioned her. Her answer is this:
"One lesson in life that we, women, can teach men is being sensitive. Because we all know that men are more logical when it comes to decision. They usually are more rational, straight forward. Unlike we, women, we use our heart and we tend to get emotional in some of our decisions. For me, sensitivity is something that we can teach men."

Twenty-four year old Ariella Arida from Laguna will represent the country at the 2013 Miss Universe pageant at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia on November 9 after she was named Miss Universe Philippines 2013 during the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 14, 2013.
