Currently I am a pre-law student. After graduating with a BA in Public Policy, I plan to attend law school to pursue a career in Ethics and Justice with an emphasis on Child Advocacy Policy. Outside of my studies, I devote my free time to working with Childhelp – a 60-year-old a national non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse. As a survivor of sexual abuse as a child, I work with Childhelp to bring education, insight and hope to adult survivors of abuse to help them work toward happier and healthier futures. Recently, as part of Arizona Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Coalition, along with representatives of Childhelp, community youth leaders and representatives of the healthcare industry; I was privileged to participate in a critical discussion to help shape policy for the Arizona Child Protection Act. One of my favorite initiatives with Childhelp has been filming a beauty Vlog designed to teach children that inner beauty is about personal safety, boundaries, and positive self-esteem. This Vlog will be released soon as a continuation of a nationwide curriculum for children. 
Music is my outlet. I love Opera and have studied it for the past 3 years. I’ve been told that I am an old soul and that Opera is the “music of old souls” which makes so much sense to me. The depth of emotion and richness of the connection I feel to the stories I get to tell through singing are healing and inspiring at the same time.
My personal passion is my family. The only girl of six kids, my five brothers and I grew up in Mexico as missionaries. Along with our father – a disabled veteran of the US Air Force – we later moved to Kenya, Africa where we worked with nearly 200 churches and a number of men’s and women’s prisons. This unique and beautiful opportunity to live abroad and work to lift others is the driving influence behind my sense of service and commitment to community. Since I was a little girl, I’ve lived by the mantra that we rise by lifting others.
