Exposed by the Sun and Moon, Rahu was punished by Lord Vishnu, who severed his body. Enraged, Rahu swallows celestial bodies, causing eclipses. Yet, many Thais revere him, believing he wards off misfortune and brings luck and prosperity.

Today, this character blends strength, beauty, and glamour, promoting unity.
