“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” This is the philosophy that I have based my whole life upon. Growing up in England as a young child from a war torn country, I grew up challenged with the reality of surviving in a strange land, struggling to readjust and having to learn a new language. Despite facing numerous setbacks and hurdles, I was raised in a single mother household that offered unending love and support whilst striving to actualize my dreams. I graduated University as an Electronic Engineer and currently work in Information Technology. My other interests are giving back to the community and modelling. I have worked with the SOS children’s village in Angola to raise awareness of their amazing work with orphaned children and I am currently a STEM ambassador. As a model, I have graced the runway at London Fashion week and numerous Fashion Shows. I plan to be an advocate of change. In the words of Malcom X, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today” ."

"I am a British Maltese creative, who has an overpowering desire to serve humanity. I came to this realisation in the last year of primary school, where I would sacriﬁce my lunch break to teach the English language to non-English speaking pupils, I was humbled to be granted a Princess Diana Award for my efforts. It would appear that my love for the arts and creative storytelling, knows no bounds since I have spent the last ten years carving out my artistic career within fashion, ﬁlm, and television. Career highlights, to name a few: - Leading role in an award-winning feature ﬁlm: “The Final Barrier," in light of the Syrian refugee crisis. - Host of London’s ﬁrst Saudi Arabian Film Festival. - CARE UK charity commercial raising awareness against GBV within the workplace. - Reporter & Producer at the 7D News conference for “Counterterrorism & Media Challenges. - Producer and Screenwriter of short ﬁlm: “Dark Souls & Dollar Bills” which won a Semi-Finalist Award at Los Angeles Cineast. My ever-growing interest in creative entrepreneurship has now led me to the National Film & Television School where I am completing my MA in Creative Business for Entrepreneurs & Executives, whilst balancing my studies with the creation of a creative enterprise and a social enterprise and completing some voluntary work for the United Nations Online Volunteering Platform as a researcher and with Amnesty as a “Children’s Champion”. My wish for the world is that we start encouraging people to take ownership of their healing process, which is why I have just launched “The Survivors Collective” an online support hub aimed at survivors of trauma."

"I am a second-year law student at Birkbeck College and next year I will be specialising in human rights and immigration law. When I graduate, my aim is to pursue a masters degree in politics and social policy. My friends would describe me as determined as I like to take on big challenges which push me to the limits. I have run two half-marathons and most recently completed an indoor Mount Everest by climbing 240 flights of stairs! I am yet to win a place for the London Marathon, but I hope to tick this off my bucket list! In my spare time I like to keep myself physically active by going to the gym and walking. While I was growing up, sports was a big part of my life. I played county-level badminton, netball and football until the age of 19. I am an avid traveller and have visited 25 countries. As a person of mixed heritage, embracing other cultures is something I relish. My biggest achievement to date is my contributions to changes in government policy, through my work. In the future I would like to become be an MP or work in the legal profession."

"I am Umida and this is my 5th time competing at Miss Universe Great Britain (crazy, I know!) I currently work for one of the largest construction companies in the UK where I make up only 30% of the workforce that is women. I strongly champion equal opportunities for women in workplace as well as equal pay in every opportunity. As an individual I believe in honesty, respect and I am never shy to be the hardest working person in the room. I also believe that no matter your age, you should always encourage yourself to keep learning something new. I currently speak four languages and I am looking to learn a new one soon. My other hobbies include reading, baking, exercising, and horse riding. I consider myself to be adventurous and I love to travel. I have visited 4 out of 7 continents already. I am so fortunate to have a supportive family and friends who encourage me daily to pursue my dreams and this motivates me to believe that with hard work and dedication ordinary people can achieve extraordinary results."
