I was born 23 years ago in Almaty, the second capital city of Kazakhstan. Since my childhood, I was drawn to exact sciences and have enjoyed studying maths. My name is Suzette van der Pol, I live in The Netherlands and currently, I am studying for my bachelor’s degree in Communication. In three words I would describe myself as ambitious, determined, and selfless. For me, it’s such a great honor to represent my beautiful country The Netherlands at Miss Intercontinental 2021. I truly feel honored to be able to show all the continents who I am, what I stand for, and to raise the Dutch flag proudly. In my free time, I love to meet new people and experience different cultures through my volunteering work at different political organizations. Besides that I have a huge passion for horse riding, I do this at M level. Success to me means having a positive impact and bringing change by using our voice. That’s why I, as Miss Intercontinental of The Netherlands have been promoting the #useyourvoice. I believe that our voice matters. I sincerely hope that I can encourage the youth and women to have the courage to be on the frontlines and stand up for themselves and others. It’s about standing up for what you believe in and for the things you would like to see changed. We can’t afford to live in silence anymore. It’s the easy way to think that we as the younger generation or as women can’t make the change we would like to see, only because we believe we have nothing to say. With my keen interest in politics, I am stoked whenever there’s a female, assuming a position in politics. I believe that women are the most powerful investment we can make in building a better future. I enjoy sharing my knowledge in politics with others which is why I give guest lectures at secondary education. I teach the students about politics and about the importance of their voice. I encourage them, that they indeed are the future and that they can make the change they would like to see. I’m looking forward to visiting wonderful Egypt for the very first time and I can’t wait to meet all the beautiful contestants at the prestigious Miss Intercontinental 2021
