MISS GRAND MARIKINA CITY

“Musika de Marikina”

We all know that Marikina is known as the shoe capital of the Philippines but in this modern era, we try to move forward where history meets modern techniques of a true Marikeño. Marikina is also good at creating music instruments specifically - a guitar.

This costume shows the rich culture of Mindanao which is now being used by Marikina artists to showcase their true talents. The details of this costume, the famous weaving of Mindanao - T’nalak, is a sacred dress woven by the T’boli people in communities around lake Sebu.

Traditionally made by women of royal blood, it shows thousands of patterns referencing folklores and stories significant to the T’boli women by memory. Now, Marikina artists are trying to give tribute to the community of Mindanao by using this material to create bags, shoes and clothes that are being showcased in the Marikina museum. A true synergy of culture and art exhibited in this timeless ensemble.

MISS GRAND LA UNION

“KAPROBINSYANIHAN”

The magnificent province of La Union has a diversification of numerous agricultural products. Coming from the word "Union" that means Unity in Spanish which was formed by the Spanish Governor -General Antonio Maria Blanco in 1850.

This National costume is greatly inspired with the concept of KAPROBINSIYANIHAN which aims to unite all 19 municipalities of the province of La Union. The costume illustrates with the collaboration of one town one product of the province. As its primarily production of buyboy or known as "Tiger grass". This crude material is made into soft brooms and other brightening things that mainly showcases this national costume. With the combination of bugnay wine and patupat from Bagulin, it emphasizes how beneficial and health-giving our products can mainly offer to our local tourists of La Union. As Bugnay wine is rich with anti-oxidants that improves heart health,circulation and digestion.

The fashionable masterpiece of Abel Iloko body suit is composed of natural dyed yarns from plants and crops that enables to produce unique designs and patterns. Ilocano weavers behind this traditional craft poured out a great amount of effort in keeping this tradition of handwoven fabric despite the competition in modernization of clothing and fabric industry. Thus, weaving or "Paghahabi" tradition is still presevered and aknowledged in todays generation.

MISS GRAND CALUYA, ANTIQUE

"LUYANA'S TIMELESS BEAUTY"

In the Legend of Caluya, Luyana is the wife of Caligno to whom he created the whole island for as a gift. She represents the beauty of the whole island. The front side of the costume showcases the clear blue waters, clear skies and the abundance of the sea.

At the back, you will see the famous "TATUS". A coconut crab which is common in the island and famous for its delicious and nutricious crab meat.

TATUS also inspires the entire community of Caluya by exemplifying the values of courage, determination and perseverance by climbing the coconut tree to get its food. TATUS is exalted annually through the celebration of the famous Tatusan Festival.

When Luyana opens her skirt, which represents her readiness to adapt and accept positive changes and technology, you will see the modern Caluya. Inside the skirt, you will see one of the longest conveyer belt in Asia and their responsible mining. You will also see the famous church made of bricks because brick is also one source of their livelihood. Along with the opening of the skirt expands a set of wings made of solar panels which displays Caluya's commitment to clean and reusable energy.

With the perfect balance of responsible mining and efficient environmental stewardship, Caluya recently hailed as the grand National winner of Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) making Luyana and Caligno the proudest!

As a whole, our lovely candidate is wearing a costume that embodies the whole Caluya....then and now!

MISS GRAND CALOOCAN CITY

“Liwanag ng Alitaptap”

Designed by Klevin Remoto Bartolaba of KRB Fashion House, the "Liwanag ng Alitaptap" costume of Miss Caloocan embodies the essence of motherly empathy and self-discovery. It showcases the fusion of natural elements and celestial wonders, drawing inspiration from the graceful firefly. The costume features self-generated illumination, symbolizing the firefly's enchanting glow.

Intricately crafted, the ensemble harmonizes deep, majestic purples with hints of darkness, representing life's unpredictable journey. Adorned with ethereal flowers, the costume emanates radiant beams, evoking the beauty that emerges amidst the darkest of times. The body piece, resembling twilight, reflects the serenity of the breaking dawn despite the darkest nights.

This creation aims to celebrate our inner radiance embracing our Filipina heritage. It urges us to recognize the often overlooked fireflies—the guardians of darkness—and reminds us of the invaluable role we play in guiding others. As our society evolves, this costume serves as a reminder to cherish our unique light and recognize our inherent beauty.

Miss Caloocan embodies enchantment of being a steward of nature, a protector of every home. She embodies the spirit of the firefly, demonstrating that each of us carries our luminosity. Yet as we navigate the depths of darkness, let us also cherish our inner peace and find solace in the light we emanate, because as Filipinas, we always have illuminated, and always, we will.

OPORTUNADIDADES DE ORO (Golden Opportunities)

Inspired by Cagayan de Oro's mythical gold fish, or "Oro", traditionally believed to be its protector, the national costume reminds how the 800,000 inhabitants live in a crib of resilience that is known as the city of golden friendship.

Designed by Jie-Jie Aisa, the dress represents strength, transformation, and luck by the glittering gold-colored fish scales in a serpentina gown showcasing the unparalled generosity of its people who excellently champion innovation, competitiveness, and golden opportunities.

The Sandugo Festival is an annual historical celebration that takes place every year in Tagbilaran City on the island of Bohol in the Philippines. This festival commemorates the Treaty of Friendship between Datu Sikatuna, a chieftain in Bohol, and Spanish conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi.

City of Stars - A Path to a Glittering Future

The national costume is a reflection of the essence of Quezon City, a place renowned for its culture, entertainment industry, and media, earning it the apt title of the "City of Stars."

This bustling metropolis finds its center in the Quezon City Shrine, a majestic structure crafted from white marble, soaring high at 217 feet. It stands as a tribute to Manuel L. Quezon, a visionary leader who envisioned a city where commerce, education, research, technology, politics, tourism, arts, sports, and government intersect harmoniously.

The dazzling bodysuit, adorned with gold beads and crystals, symbolizes the countless shimmering opportunities that Quezon City continuously presents to its residents and visitors. The white accents embellishing the sleeves and cape pay homage to the magnificent pylons composing the Quezon City Shrine. Additionally, the three winged golden angels featured on the ensemble serve as a direct tribute to the angelic figures adorning the pylons, representing the regions of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Designer Francis, envisioned this ensemble as a testament to the city's resilience and unwavering determination to forge ahead towards a prosperous future.

“Kafagway”

Baguio was called Kafagway by the natives which this costumes is inspired with. The People, Culture and tradition of Baguio.

The headpiece symbolizes leadership of the chief of the village and deep connection with the spiritual realm.Featuring vibrant colors and intricate patterns, the costume told stories of their people's struggles and triumphs. With every step, the rhythmic sound of beads echoing their ancient traditions and invoking the presence of the gods of the Cordillera. It embodied the strength, nurturing spirit, and religious devotion of the People in Cordillera.

Ang Birhen ng Pagbati at Pasko ng Muling Pagkabuhay ay isa sa mga Patron ng Bayan na Angono at ito ay kinatawan ang mga dalagang Babae tulad ng Kapitana at Tenyenta tuwing Mayo at Mahal na Araw.

Ang katangi tangi batradisyon ng Bayan ay nag simula pa noong panahong una, kung saan sa Saliw ng Balse at Gavotte.
